Pongwe Beach Hotel Zanzibar

You are Here: › Pongwe Beach Hotel

We stayed at the pongwe beach hotel with five persons.

We had two rooms next to each other with the best view.

The rooms were large and well maintained. Bathroom was nice.

Every room has a nice terrace with places to sit or lay down.

The beach has very nice sand and plenty of places to relax between the palm trees.

The sea is just a few meters away, except at low tide when the water retreats a few hundred meters.

This is normal at the east coast of Zanzibar..

The hotel has a lovely pool to cool off and a pool deck to enjoy the view and the sun.

The restaurant and bar area is very nicely set up. We enjoyed our cocktails here everyday!

Food at the restaurant is good, though there's not much to choose from. It would be nice if there was more choice for dinner.

One of us is vegetarian and the cooks could make her something else. The bar has everyday a cocktail of the day and this is a very nice touch.

Staff is overall very friendly and not fake.. They are in for a talk if you like.

Management was perfect. On our last day we had a transfer to the airport in the afternoon and until we left we could make use of towels and even a room to change.

The place is quite remote. This means you have the perfect beach for yourself.. It also means that hoping out for dinner is not easy and trips are more expensive,, but if you just want to relax and maybe go snorkeling sometime, this is the perfect place on Zanzibar.
